How often do we feel like we are the only ones going through whatever it is that we are going through?
Of course, that’s never true. But while it is happening to us, we can’t help but feel like we’re in silos dealing with something that has never happened to anyone before.
It’s easy to think our situation is different or unique. And in some aspects, it may be. But what is not different is that we are in a struggle and desperately need to get beyond it. Also, what is not unique is pain, and our eager attempts to put whatever is causing us pain, to get over it and put it behind us.
One of the many ways we find the strength to overcome hardships is to see someone else overcome. Right? There is something about our human ability to rise above our trials that strengthens others. The desire to overcome becomes contagious! And when we succeed, it’s electrifying! These are the experiences that are necessary for us to have to keep us in the game called life.
On the podcast this month, I’ve shared the stories of a women who lived many centuries ago. Their examples are reminders that no matter how hard a circumstance is, and no matter the difficulty of the person we may be dealing with, if we dig deep, we can find the will and the faith, to trust God through it.
If we believe and not doubt, we can be victorious when it seems everything and everyone is against us.
This week’s podcast episode gave me another boost for the next leg of the race that I must run. The way is see it, if this woman, who lacked many of the resources that I now have at my disposal, could persevere and stand firm to show her commitment to Christ no matter what, I surely can accept the challenges that are before me, with the same faith she had! I believe the same Holy Spirit that was at work in her, is the same Holy Spirit at work within me!
What I have come to learn is faith is faith. Period.
Faith. Is. Faith. I either believe God or I don’t. It’s really that simple. So, let’s get to work!
Let’s choose today, from the examples of all of the women who have been showcased this month, that we too will go as high, as far, and as often as is necessary to get the job done—whether in the church or the marketplace.
